Based on the Norwegian Fjord horse.
Horses have always played a very important role in my life, so when I was invited to take part in an exhibition about Godbeeings, the first thing that came to mind for me was the Horsegod.
Maybe the most fascinating of them all is the steed Sleipnir, the Horse of Odin of the Norske gods.
Sleipnir had eight legs, which is totally logical when you think that if Vikings did ride horses, they probalby would’ve ridden Icelandic ponies and Icelandic ponies have 5 different gaits, compared to the 3 most horse breeds display. Particulairy the Tølt gait makes it look as if the pony has way more than four legs.
However, the Fjord horse will have been present also at the same time in history, beeing as ancient a breed as his Icelandic brethern. Were I a God I would’ve ridden a Fjordi rather than an Iclandi, so I choose to Godify my own horse Daan. Since he doesn’t have all those fancy extra gaits, I gave him only 6 legs, but the raven of Odin still travels with him, looking down on him lovingly.
